Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season and after recent discussion regarding two top teams being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was good to see how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender with CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that battle.

They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't always sending more than four pass rushers but they might position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows that Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, and he is so athletic.

His strengths are his movement, being able to throw on the run, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack as much as possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you constantly rush it consumes the clock and makes the defence to be in play extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to defend the area vertically and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. I think the achievements the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.

They excel at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Ever since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the division.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
