Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Vehicle Accident
The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California at the age of 55.
Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The renowned video game developer passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
