Thousands Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Nearly 25,000 households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore electricity service throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around one thousand households in Victoria also experienced energy failures after Melbourne recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

At one point on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.
Medical Alert
Public health experts warned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
