Netflix Selects Spot-On Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. This character possesses the power to change into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action series, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.

The new cast member is joined by several other recently announced actors who will portray the organization to the screen, including head Mr. 0, brought to life by the well-known actor, a talented actress as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.

Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Given season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the placement of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
