Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the United States has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a several projectiles," it added.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
