Actor Rejects Anti-Vaccine Position After Narrating Contentious Pandemic Film

The "Taken" star has provided his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and praises one-time cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Disputed Foundation

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a bestselling book written by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the health crisis for allegations that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

The book's writing partner, the executive producer, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. He recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

The team of the actor have issued a response pushing back against claims that he holds anti-vax beliefs.

"Many recognize that corruption can exist within the medical sector, but that should never be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "Neeson never has been, and remains not, anti-vax. His extensive work with Unicef highlights his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It added that the performer had no hand in the project's narrative and that questions about its assertions should be directed to the creators.

Key Themes Within the Film

In the film, the script spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "blind obedience" to government bodies.
  • It argues that "research has become deeply politicized."
  • Kennedy is shown saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of Covid vaccines, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Background and Recent Issues

The documentary further cites a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the topic of a BBC apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

Recently, Kennedy instructed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is echoed in the film, despite a recent study from the World Health Organisation stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Endorsement

Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's script stating, "This is not the finish of our story. This is the beginning of a new chapter."
